What was it like to document the end of a life while making a new friend? Journalist RuthAnn Hogue expertly shows us in 'Goodbye, Walter A reporter's notebook' (soft cover and Kindle editions available).
June is #Men'sHealthMonth and the perfect time to remember the lessons Walter Schifter shared with reporter RuthAnn Hogue during his final days as a terminal #cancer patient.
One title under consideration before publication of "Goodbye, "Walter" was "Dandelions in Lieu of Lilies." Walter was just that practical, and the metaphor for his life choices seems to fit. What do you think?

Merry Christmas!
There's still time to order "Goodbye, Walter" for Christmas.
- Tim MI finished reading the book "Goodbye, Walter: A Reporter's Notebook" and I was touched. I've been given a new, refreshing perspective on the role that hospice care has in enhancing the final chapter of life.
- Alicia WThe book, "Goodbye, Walter" was a gift. I was reticent to read it because I feared it would be a depressing reminder of loved ones lost. So, I approached with caution and skimmed pages. I became intrigued and pulled in by the snippets I skimmed and thus began reading from the beginning. I’m glad I did. What unfolded were two heart-warming journeys with both Walter and RuthAnn. The story is a reminder of the gifts we share with each other when we have meaningful and open conversations. It’s never too late to learn and every interaction is an opportunity for growth. The book delivered as promised on the back cover – an inspiring story behind the story of reporter RuthAnn interviewing Walter during his end of life.
JasmineTo love a mockingbird is a great feel good story and worth the read ❤️
